The History of Pooch Snoozer
How the Best Dog Bed Came to Be!
Lisa would see people spending thousands of dollars redecorating their homes. The final touch would be a dog bed that would destroy their beautifully decorated house! In her search for the bed that would fit the bill (thinking she could give them a gift for their newly remodeled house), she found dog beds that would possibly enhance the house but they were astronomically priced. She also found that many of them could not be washed and had to be dry cleaned or even thrown away!
Lisa was in the garment industry for 25 years and had always loved animals and production so she decided to merge what she knew and what she loved and hence, “POOCH SNOOZER” was born.
Since Pooch Snoozer’s creation, she has spent numerous hours searching for the best fabrics. She donates money and pet beds regularly for those poor homeless dogs that need TLC. She has also manufactured not only for rescued pets but also AKC pet owners. She has attended numerous pet shows. Ten years ago, she expanded to pet-friendly hotels market and you can see Pooch Snoozer beds at The Ritz-Carlton chain(including Austria), The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, L’ Auberge, The Kimpton chain, La Montage, Waldorf-Astoria and Hotel Telluride. Her dog beds have been named the Best of the Best dog beds for both design and style for Pet friendly hotels by msnbc.com (August 2009).
Lisa has rescued many animals including her 3 previous pets: Havana, Mariah and Sahara. Also assists regularly with the unending need for pet rescues. Her current furry companion, German shepherd, Kuan Yin(“The Chinese Goddess of Compassion”) was rescued from a very mean breeder. She was caged for the first two years of her life and was only let out when she was in heat. When she rescued her, she was only 35 pounds! She is now 70 pounds and a very happy, healthy and confident German Sheppard. She is the President of Pooch Snoozer!!!
Her most recent quest (and the new love of her life) was rescuing a thoroughbred race horse named “MIDNIGHT DICKENS”. The owner had run him only six times and gave up. For fear of him being put down, she took him in. He is now a very happy horse. His favorite thing to do is look at himself in the mirror – he is sooo handsome!!!
I hope you will try out our products and see why we have repeat customers year after year!”
